Have you received a suspicious call from someone claiming to be Toronto Hydro Billing and Collection Department?
To reduce any risk of fraudulent activity, we want our customers to know the facts and spread the word. Toronto Hydro never calls demanding payment with a pre-paid card and we never threaten to disconnect power immediately.
To avoid being fooled:
|Some of our business and residential customers are receiving phone calls that seem to be from Toronto Hydro asking for immediate bill payment. The caller threatens to disconnect your power and asks for payment from a pre-paid card. They then ask you to buy a pre-paid card at a location such as a grocery or drug store, post office or gas station. This is a scam. Toronto Hydro never asks for this type of payment, and we never threaten to disconnect power immediately. Don’t provide any personal or account information, and do not make any type of payment. Simply hang up.
Report this call to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 and quote file number 844396. And, please notify Customer Care at 416-542-8000, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If it’s an evening or weekend, call the next business day.
A suspicious man has been walking through the path in the evening. He is white, wearing a black hoodie and back pack. He took pictures of houses that have the ‘expensive‘ outdoor lights. When he was approached by two members he ran off.
It should be noted that there are a number of reports of outdoor laser lights being stolen around the City. Keep an
eye out for strangers.
– The Rules Committee will be checking front and back yards
Please make sure your yards are clean & air conditioner units are covered, dog poop cleaned up & hoses are drained.
Christmas at the Creek will be held Friday, December 4. The Christmas lights & decorations around the property look absolutely fabulous.
Thanks to all those who have put in such an effort.
